The Beginning of FinSteam

FinSteam was founded in 2008 in Pietarsaari, Finland. Not because the world needed another heater, but because Finnish sauna deserved a new kind of alternative. One that breaks traditional limitations and redefines where and how sauna can be experienced.

Sauna has always been part of Finnish identity. But too often, it has been tied to fixed locations, heavy installations, and technical constraints. We saw an opportunity to challenge that thinking and create something more flexible without losing what makes sauna truly authentic.

First sauna gas heaters

From day one, the goal was clear: preserve the essence of Finnish sauna while making it truly accessible beyond its traditional boundaries. Not by simplifying it, but by rethinking how it can be delivered.

Our first gas-powered sauna heater met the safety standards of its time. It wasn’t a compromise. It was the baseline. From that point forward, every decision has been guided by the same principle: respect the tradition, but never be limited by it.

As gas appliance regulations tightened and expectations grew, many slowed down. We didn’t.
Instead of seeing regulations as a limitation, we saw them as a benchmark. A reason to improve, refine, and push our solutions further.

At FinSteam, product development is not a project. It is a constant state. It’s built into how we think, how we work, and how we challenge ourselves. With every new version and innovation, our goal is to make our gas sauna heaters more efficient, more user-friendly, safer, and better in design. Above all, our goal is to create heaters that deliver the best possible sauna experience.

Unique Sauna Gas Heaters

Today, we build sauna gas heaters that do more than meet requirements. They actively shape what modern sauna can be. They create new standards and open new chapters in Finnish sauna culture. We are currently the only manufacturer in Europe whose truly portable, non-electric gas sauna heaters hold both an EU Type Examination Certificate and CE marking.
